Hey Everyone,
Some news: I’m going to take a break from regularly publishing Lying to Ourselves. I’m not sure how long I’ll be inconsistent, but my best guess is a few months.
Why am I doing this? Well, there’s a long list. Professionally, I went to work for a client six months ago, and my team has more than doubled in size since I joined. Getting lots of new people comfortable, ramped, and productive is something I take seriously and deserves more of my time. Personally, my wife has taken a big step up in her career (which has required me to step up around the house), our daughters are older and have more activities, and we got a puppy for Christmas.
Said more simply: my work and home life are action-packed these days.I’ll still be posting some, just not on my usual Tuesday schedule and not every week. I hope to get back to a regular cadence this spring or summer, but we’ll see what the future holds.
In the meantime, please keep the emails, texts, and ideas coming! Knowing that an active community of people thinks critically about hiring, managing, and working makes me extremely happy and optimistic for the future.
